The Movement Street Named RISE 2024/25 Finalist — Watch Our Showcase Video!

We’re proud to announce that The Movement Street has been selected as a RISE 2024/25 Finalist, representing the University of Maryland on a global stage!

RISE (Real Impact on Society and Environment) is a prestigious international program powered by Universitas 21 that highlights and supports student-led social enterprises tackling pressing global challenges. The program exists to amplify innovation, connect changemakers, and help student-founded projects move beyond local implementation and toward lasting global impact.

Each year, universities from across the U21 network nominate their most promising initiatives—and this year, The Movement Street is among them.

Why This Matters
RISE gives us an incredible opportunity to share our mission with an international audience. From reimagining volunteerism to increasing access to civic engagement for Black and Brown communities, our work has always been driven by real people and real impact. Now, we get to showcase that work to a network of global partners, funders, and fellow change agents.

We’ve created a short video to share our story, our impact, and the heart behind the movement.

About RISE
RISE is designed to uplift student-led initiatives that align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Through the program, participants gain access to international mentorship, visibility, and a supportive network of peers and professionals who are equally passionate about creating lasting change.

We’d like to thank the University of Maryland for nominating us, and a special shoutout to Tara Sutton and Amber Bartlett from Universitas 21 for their leadership in making this opportunity possible.

Stay tuned for updates later this month as we connect with global partners and fellow finalists!

Let’s keep building a movement where service is not just a moment — but a lifestyle.
